We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Avem Staffing Resources Llc. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by performing laboratory tests and analyzing results.
Key Responsibilities- Process laboratory specimens and report results in all areas of the clinical laboratory.
- Maintain laboratory records and ensure accurate and timely reporting of results.
- Perform routine and stat laboratory assays, including hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation tests.
- Operate hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation equipment, and perform manual methods of differentials.
- Perform technical procedures for the identification or susceptibility of bacteria, parasites, fungi, and mycobacteria.
- Ensure patients receive compatible blood/blood components by completing blood typing, antibody screening, compatibility testing, and antibody identification procedures.
- Clean laboratory glassware, sinks, work benches, autoclave, and drying oven, using appropriate solvents, brushes, and cloths.
- Maintain quality control practices in the laboratory and follow laboratory policies and procedures.
- Associates Degree in Science.
- Requires Generalist skill set in: General Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, ABGs, Urine Microbiology, Spot Testing, and General Blood Banking.
- Must be computer proficient.
- MLT-ASCP Certification required.
- Current BLS (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
This job requires visual abilities, auditory abilities, and must be intact to perform duties.
