About the Role

The Maintenance Engineer is a key member of the Aparium Hotel Group team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel facilities. As a working engineer, you will be hands-on and dive into the day-to-day operation, service, and repairs of hotel equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working environment
  • Responsibilities include maintaining all equipment, systems, and building components, including mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile, and other equipment
  • Handle routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public spaces, event space, outlets, back of house spaces, and grounds
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the hotel's safety systems and take corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems that affect the security or operating condition of the hotel
  • Participate in the room preventative maintenance program
  • Use your skills and intuition to detect equipment malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance team members to diagnose the problem or repair
  • Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment and furnishings as needed
  • Transport heavy boxes and equipment within the hotel for maintenance and repairs
  • Assist in delivery and setup of all new equipment, such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
  • Communicate with the Director of Facilities on projects as assigned
  • Respond to all guest requests in a timely and personable manner
Requirements
  • Minimum of (2) two years of experience in building maintenance; previous experience as a hotel engineer preferred or comparable experience at an establishment such as an apartment complex or office building
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems, electricity, HVAC, and plumbing, certifications are a plus
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or the willingness to obtain it
  • Proficiency in the English language in reading, writing, and verbal communication
  • Ability to sit, bend, climb stairs, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to regularly work a full-time set schedule of approximately 40 hours/week
  • Ability to work in a dog-friendly work environment
