Senior Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician

A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team at US Foods, Inc.
The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and reefers.
Competitive Compensation:
- Starting salary of $28.00 – $33.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Overtime compensation available when needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with diesel equipment, ensuring timely repairs and minimal downtime
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety regulations and best practices
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, such as PMs and parts inventory management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and drivers, promoting teamwork and effective communication
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and manufacturer recommendations through ongoing training and professional development
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of verifiable experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic
- Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting diesel equipment, with a focus on preventive maintenance
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid CDL A and DOT certification, preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
