A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team at US Foods, Inc.

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and reefers.

Competitive Compensation:

  • Starting salary of $28.00 – $33.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Overtime compensation available when needed

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with diesel equipment, ensuring timely repairs and minimal downtime
  2. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety regulations and best practices
  3. Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, such as PMs and parts inventory management
  4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and drivers, promoting teamwork and effective communication
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and manufacturer recommendations through ongoing training and professional development

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of verifiable experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic
  • Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting diesel equipment, with a focus on preventive maintenance
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid CDL A and DOT certification, preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
