About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Intern to join our team at Holcim (US). As a Procurement Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our procurement team in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, managing purchase orders, and developing relationships with vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supplier Research: Assist in researching and identifying potential suppliers, evaluating their offerings, and conducting initial outreach for procurement needs.
  • Purchase Order Management: Support the creation, tracking, and management of purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Help maintain and develop relationships with suppliers, including communication, negotiation, and issue resolution.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analyses to compare supplier pricing, evaluate value, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Safety Protocols: Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with Holcim standards.
  • Executive Presentation: At the end of your internship, you'll present your learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Supply Chain Management, Business, Statistics, or similar field.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
  • A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field, gaining hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of our business operations.
