Key Responsibilities

Your duties will be categorized into daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks:

Daily Tasks
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from both field and corporate staff, ensuring professional communication within a 24-hour timeframe.
  • Stay informed about significant transactions that may impact cash flow.
  • Prioritize and manage tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Address any outstanding review notes from previous accounting periods.
  • Perform essential administrative functions, including record-keeping and filing.
Weekly Tasks
  • Authorize weekly payables for designated associations experiencing cash flow challenges.
  • Facilitate bank transfers as necessary for reserve funding and special assessments.
Monthly Tasks
  • Reconcile bank accounts for assigned associations.
  • Complete the Monthly Checklist for Financial Statement Preparation.
  • Compile the Financial Package for each assigned association, ensuring all documents are prepared by contractual deadlines, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Accounts Payable Detail.
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations of Balance Sheet line items, maintaining supporting schedules.
  • For associations with approved budgets, reconcile reserve fund balances.
  • For associations with special assessments, ensure accurate reconciliation of related fund balances.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for pooled reserves if applicable.
  • Analyze financial statements for accuracy and compliance with accrual accounting standards.
  • For developer-controlled associations, track key dates and manage invoicing for deficits and assessments.
Annual Tasks
  • Assist in Budget Preparation by updating the Budget Worksheet and reserve schedule.
  • Coordinate the Financial Audit by liaising with auditors and ensuring timely completion of the audit process.
  • Review audit reports for accuracy and communicate any significant post-year-end events.
  • Manage Tax Return preparations, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines.
Qualifications
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting principles.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
Supervision

This position reports directly to the Director of Accounting.
