Coffee Connoisseur

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for our guests, providing exceptional customer service, and preparing and serving high-quality coffee drinks.

• Create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for Center guests
• Make recommendations and answer questions about beverage recipes
• Provide excellent customer service in a professional manner
• Serve guests quickly and efficiently
• Prepare and serve coffee drinks consistent with the Center's standards
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the workspace
• Report equipment problems and maintenance issues to the Coffee Shop Manager
• Assist with restocking and replenishment of inventory and supplies

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
• Great communication skills and a personable and friendly demeanor
• Working knowledge of coffee or eagerness to learn
• Basic math skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

The physical demands of this role include remaining stationary for extended periods, using a computer and telephone, reaching, and communicating with guests. The employee may also be required to move up to 25 pounds, ascend/descend on ladders, and crawl in confined spaces.
