Responsibilities

The Sterile Processing Technician is accountable for the decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, and equipment. This role also includes managing inventory, restocking supplies, performing computer data entry, and handling patient charge card batching. The technician must demonstrate knowledge of all department locations within the facility and possess the ability to access all departments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a thorough understanding of patient supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. A High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience is required for new hires.

2. A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician is required, preferably in an acute care hospital environment.

3. Central Supply Certification is mandatory.

4. A current BLS (AHA) certification is required.
