Position Overview:
We are offering a special summer incentive for nurses with one or more years of experience - applicable to external candidates only. A sign-on bonus of $15,000 is available. The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a professional caregiver, responsible for a designated group of patients during a specific timeframe. This role involves delivering care through the application of the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and the effective use of financial and human resources, all within the institution's philosophy.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Associate's Degree in Nursing or a College Diploma in Nursing.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Completion of all required continuing education related to the care of acute stroke patients is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties and responsibilities specific to the unit's scope of service.
- Implement procedures and theories relevant to the area of practice.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care to ensure effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Conduct initial assessments upon patient admission and develop a suitable plan of care based on unit standards and patient/family needs.
- Execute the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures, modifying as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to resolve issues and provide constructive feedback for professional development.
- Identify personal learning needs and take initiative to address them.
- Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.
- Conduct patient assessments and provide infant care.
- Administer medications as per physician orders and document all care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
