About the Role

The University of Chicago is seeking a highly skilled Research Laboratories Manager to join our team in the Section of Hematology/Oncology. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing laboratory operations, space, and related strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leadership to optimize laboratory space and maximize research potential
  • Maintain accurate records of research space and equipment
  • Provide exceptional support to laboratory faculty and staff, addressing issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage routine laboratory needs, including purchasing, equipment maintenance, and inventory management
  • Oversee shared equipment and ensure compliance with University policies and guidelines
  • Assist with faculty recruitment and lab startup processes
  • Communicate important updates and information to stakeholders, including quarterly reports to senior leadership
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A college or university degree in a related field
  • 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline
  • Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations and research environments
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
