About the Position

The Sales Associate plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Outdoor Research Des Moines Store, upholding the brand's identity and culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and helpful experience for all customers.
  • Greet and thank customers in a friendly and non-intrusive manner throughout the purchasing process.
  • Assist with opening and closing the store, counting down registers, and printing nightly reports.
  • Contribute to loss prevention efforts and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Participate in weekly inventory counts and other duties assigned by the Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
Requirements
  • Active participation in one or more of Outdoor Research's core sports is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and/or intermediate to advanced experience with various outdoor gear and equipment, with a preference for Outdoor Research products.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and point of sale systems.
  • Previous experience providing excellent customer service in retail or similar settings.
  • Previous cash/credit handling/transaction experience.
  • Meets or exceeds schedule and attendance requirements.
