Position: Phlebotomist

Work Type: Part Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confirm patient identity by verifying two (2) identifiers, in accordance with established policies, before collecting specimens.
  • Address any discrepancies in patient identification prior to specimen collection.
  • Execute venipuncture procedures in line with published laboratory protocols.
  • Ensure specimens are collected adequately and labeled correctly.
  • Review and follow current clinician orders as per laboratory guidelines.
  • Conduct both waived and non-waived testing as required.
  • Prepare specimens for testing or for shipment to external laboratories.
  • Engage with patients, relatives, and colleagues in a compassionate and supportive manner.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment through effective interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
  • Valid California Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certification.
