Job Overview

Escuela de Guadalupe seeks a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional and ESL Tutor to support the academic growth and development of our students. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters the spiritual, cultural, and academic excellence of our students.

Responsibilities
  1. Paraprofessional Responsibilities
    1. Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement small-group learning plans, utilizing intentional planning and assessment data to inform instruction.
    2. Support teachers in instruction, creating, and assessing whole-group homework, while maintaining awareness of student progress, grades, and feedback.
    3. Stay updated on current educational practices by investigating and implementing research-based and effective strategies.
    4. Communicate regularly with teachers and parents through in-person meetings, emails, phone calls, and personal conversations.
  2. ESL Responsibilities
    1. Lead small-group learning to support literacy and language development, collaborating with classroom teachers to plan and discuss student progress.
    2. Develop and implement lessons and learning activities for language instruction, working closely with teachers to ensure effective planning and execution.
    3. Communicate regularly with teachers and parents through in-person meetings, emails, phone calls, and personal conversations.
    4. Stay updated on current educational practices by investigating and implementing research-based and effective strategies.
  3. Additional Responsibilities
    1. Fulfill the mission and goals of Escuela de Guadalupe, building positive relationships with adults and children in the school community.
    2. Support community events that maintain the school culture, financial model, and student enrollment.
Requirements
  • Experience as an ELL/ESL tutor and/or working with ELL students.
  • Teaching, tutoring, and/or performing interventions with students.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful tutoring/intervention experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Compensation
  • Professional development opportunities, including staff development, conferences, specialized training, and book study groups.
  • Reduced tuition for teacher's children enrolled at Escuela de Guadalupe.
  • Salary based on experience.
