POSITION OVERVIEW
The Truck Driver role is a safety-sensitive position tasked with the transportation of aggregates and asphalt to various job sites. Drivers will encounter diverse situations and equipment while executing their responsibilities. It is essential for drivers to ensure the safe operation of their assigned vehicles and provide excellent customer service. Regular inspections of equipment must be conducted at least twice daily, with any issues reported to supervisors or mechanics.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
For travel exceeding 50 miles from the home base, and when an overnight stay is necessary, a generous per diem will be provided to assist with lodging and meal expenses incurred during travel.
Available Truck Positions:
-Belly Dump: Currently dispatched from a designated location. Willingness to travel is required.
-Dump Truck: Local position; willingness to travel is an advantage.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with all safety policies and procedures, utilizing the appropriate tools and equipment for each task.
- Exercise sound judgment regarding site access, unloading, and operations to and from work sites.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles; report any defects and necessary repairs to the maintenance department or supervisor.
- Adhere to all DOT, state, and local traffic laws, rules, and regulations while safely operating all equipment.
- Operate additional heavy machinery and perform other construction-related duties as required.
- Prioritize safety by complying with all DOT and company safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Be prepared for night shifts and weekend work as needed.
- Extended travel or work assignments away from home may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, understanding, and writing in English.
- A valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain the endorsement is mandatory.
- A valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate is required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is essential.
- An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with company policy is required.
- Experience in asphalt paving is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
