Typical duties performed in this role include:
  • Dispensing medications, including the preparation and verification of IVs
  • Filling patient-specific doses and managing Pyxis loads
  • Overseeing Technician work and ensuring accuracy
  • Conducting pharmacokinetic dosing and adjustments for heparin and coumadin
  • Performing chart reviews and renal dose adjustments
  • Engaging in antimicrobial stewardship initiatives
  • Facilitating IV to PO conversions and discharge medication reconciliation
