Job Summary

The Defense Health Agency is seeking a highly skilled Dietitian to join our team. As a Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing medical nutrition therapy to patients, conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments, and developing personalized feeding regimens.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough nutrition assessments to identify health and nutrition concerns, and develop targeted interventions to address these issues.
  • Design and implement nutrition education programs for patients, staff, and students, to promote healthy eating habits and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement nutrition care plans, and provide ongoing support and guidance to patients and families.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in nutrition and dietetics, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to nutrition and dietetics, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and agency standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in dietetics, food science, nutrition, or a related field.
  • Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, providing medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop evidence-based solutions.
