Overview:
The Coatings Specialist will be responsible for preparing, refinishing, and painting metal and other surfaces for our fire apparatus. This role requires excellent customer service skills, knowledge of painting techniques and materials, and the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Enforce company policies as defined in the SMEG Company Handbook.
  • Interact with customers, vendors, and service staff.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Measure areas to be painted, determine paint quantities and types, and identify and order paint colors and finishes.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.
  • Masks, removes, covers, or protects hardware, trim, and other non-painted surfaces.
  • Apply primer and finish coats using lacquers and synthetic paints and enamels.

Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
