Job Title: Senior Business Intelligence Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Business Intelligence Software Engineer to join our team at Penske Truck Leasing. The ideal candidate will work closely with both external and internal users and analysts to deliver high-quality business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure to be the primary point of contact and lead support associate for multiple critical projects and integrations, resolving customer issues promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical/business leaders, product owners, BI software engineers, data architects, and data analysts to gather and comprehend requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate actively in defining Business Intelligence Process and Technology strategies, providing day-to-day task leadership, and conducting project reviews.
  • Engage in Design and Deploy Tollgate reviews, obtaining buy-in from cross-functional teams including QA, Architect, Security, Webmaster, and Operations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Qlik Sense reports, dashboards, and applications tailored for both internal and external users, with a focus on Executive and Leadership use cases.
  • Develop customized mashup web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, embedding BI objects into external angular pages using Enigma and Nebula JS libraries.
  • Take an active role in gathering requirements from UI designers, product owners, and internal analysts to translate them into effective Qlik Sense solutions.
  • Contribute and influence the discovery and decision-making process for changes to standards and technology, work closely with external partner organizations such as Vendor consultants to ensure alignment with best practices, standards, and deployment protocols.
  • Provide valuable input to department management regarding team members assigned to projects, as well as act as an administrator for the on-premises Qlik Sense infrastructure, overseeing capacity planning and ensuring the ongoing performance and stability of the BI environment.
  • Integrate AI, LLM, NLP, and Auto ML capabilities into our BI solutions to enhance analytics and insights generation, as well as contribute to the development and implementation of a Self-Service BI program to empower departments with modern BI solutions.
  • Lead the demonstration of new Qlik Sense features and development techniques during Qlik Center of Excellence (CoE) meetings, organizing monthly guest speaker sessions to showcase the latest dashboards and features.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/computer engineering or equivalent years of software development experience required.
  • 10+ years of overall technology experience.
  • 8+ years of Business intelligence, Data Modeling, and Data Warehousing experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Agile teams preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience leading medium to large projects
  • Expert knowledge of full Business Intelligence lifecycle
  • Expert experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik Sense
  • Experience on major databases (e.g. Oracle, Greenplum, SQL Server, S3 etc.).
  • Experience integrating with other platforms (e.g. Angular Apps, Salesforce.com etc.) required.
  • Extensive experience in Qlik Sense development and administration, including the implementation of On-Premises architecture, N-Printing, and Alerting
  • Expert experience in building BI data models, data security, data Governance, data integrations, data preparations, and knowledge of traditional Data warehouses and Data Marts
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with complex datasets.
  • Expertise in designing, validating, and implementing multiple projects across the hybrid infrastructure (On-cloud to On-Premises and vice versa)
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, Quicksight
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology strategies and best practices
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Enigma JS, Nebula JS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in at least one of the functional areas – Finance, Marketing, Service, Logistics, Rental, Leasing, Supply Chain, or other functional areas.
  • Ability to interface with senior leaders in the company.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills; ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.
