Key Responsibilities:
As a Healthcare Unit Coordinator, you will:
- Oversee the coordination of all admissions documentation, ensuring accurate and timely completion of initial paperwork or electronic entries into the system.
- Assist in the admissions process by entering data through the designated system, verifying immunization status, and organizing patient information.
- Welcome residents, families, and visitors, providing assistance as necessary.
- Support the transcription of all physician orders electronically and maintain proficiency in the electronic medical record system through required training.
- Monitor, order, and maintain supplies and forms for the unit, ensuring an organized and well-stocked environment.
- Document physician visits in the system and keep the resident calendar updated.
- Scan documents into the system, including weekly reports.
- Record vital signs and weights, generating relevant reports for tracking purposes.
- Schedule appointments for patients and confirm transportation arrangements.
- Handle phone calls and manage all copying, faxing, and related tasks accurately and promptly.
- Maintain unit files and bulletin boards in an organized manner.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with staff, residents, and family members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
