Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Treat Patients: Collaborate with physicians to diagnose, treat, and provide medical services to inmates consistent with community standards of care.
- Conduct Patient Evaluations: Perform and document patient evaluations, including taking patient histories and conducting physical examinations.
- Order and Interpret Diagnostic Tests: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab results and imaging studies.
- Prescribe and Monitor Medications: Prescribe and monitor patient medications, ensuring safe and effective treatment.
- Provide Education and Support: Work with healthcare team members to educate patients about their medical care and provide emotional support.
- Maintain Patient Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Master's Degree: Possess a Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Advanced Practice Nurse License: Hold a current and valid Advanced Practice Nurse license for the state in which you will provide services.
- Prescriptive Authority: Possess prescriptive authority with a current and valid DEA and CDS.
- Experience: Have at least one year of experience providing direct patient care.
- CPR/BLS Certification: Hold a current CPR/BLS certification with demonstrated cognitive skills.
