Cardiovascular Technologist Position

Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technologist to join their team in Louisville, Kentucky.
Job OverviewThis role involves working alongside cardiologists and other medical professionals to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing equipment, assisting with procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout.
Key Responsibilities:- Pre-Procedure Preparation
- Prepare the cath lab environment by setting up necessary equipment and verifying patient information.
- Assist in preparing patients for procedures, including monitoring equipment and proper positioning.
- Provide education and reassurance to patients before procedures.
- Assisting with Procedures
- Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiological studies.
- Handle sterile instruments and maintain a sterile field during procedures.
- Operate X-ray fluoroscopy equipment and assist with imaging during diagnostic tests.
- Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities to physicians.
- Administer medications under physician direction.
- Post-Procedure Care
- Monitor patients for immediate complications after procedures.
- Assist with transferring patients to recovery and provide post-procedure instructions.
- Help with patient recovery by monitoring cardiac rhythm and vital signs.
- Equipment Management and Maintenance
- Maintain, clean, and sterilize cath lab equipment and instruments.
- Regularly check and troubleshoot cath lab machinery.
- Order necessary supplies and manage inventory.
- Patient Monitoring and Safety
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs during procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient information and procedures.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
- Collaboration with Medical Team
- Work closely with cardiologists, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Attend pre-procedure meetings to review patient conditions.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have relevant experience and skills in cardiovascular technology. A strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology is essential, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 per yearMagnet Medical offers a competitive salary and benefits package to qualified candidates. This estimate is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week.
