About the Role

Baker Tilly US, LLP is a leading advisory, tax, and assurance firm that provides clients with a genuine coast-to-coast and global advantage. We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Director to join our team as a Real Estate Tax Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide federal tax compliance and consulting services to industry-specific clients, focusing on day-to-day tax matters and technical matters in various areas of Real Estate taxation.
  • Consult on tax matters and special projects, research tax matters, respond to tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to clients.
  • Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complicated tax matters in state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, and credits and incentives areas.
  • Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
  • Network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community.
  • Invest in professional development individually and through participation in firm-wide learning and development programs.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or law, or a similar degree in business, with a Master's or advanced degree desirable.
  • CPA or JD required.
  • Ten (10)+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm.
  • Five (5)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring, and counseling associates.
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects.
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
