Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Short Stay team at Ascension Borgess Hospital. As a Cardiovascular Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to care.
  • Collaborate with patients and their families to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet their unique needs and goals.
  • Participate in open discussion with the healthcare team to identify mutual goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and revise care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Assess, detect, monitor, and attempt to prevent complications associated with health situations or treatment plans.
  • Notify physicians of patient condition and response to nursing intervention, and document this action.
  • Responsible for ensuring that patient pain is assessed, treated, reassessed, documented, and evaluated, and adhere to policies and procedures for Pain Management.
  • Responsible for delegation to other licensed and unlicensed care providers based on clinical nursing judgment and skill of the care provider.
Requirements
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 12 months of hire date.
  • BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 1 month of hire date.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) within 3 months of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in cardiology, telemetry monitoring, and knowledge of 12-lead EKG and arterial sheath management.
  • Pre/post procedure experience, including sheath and groin management, and post-procedure moderate conscious sedation recovery experience.
