Responsibilities

As a Medical Claims Specialist, you will:

  • Work on a computer.
  • Utilize the EHR.
  • Scan and upload documents.
  • Correspond with attorneys and their office staff.
  • Print claims and corresponding notes.
  • Mailing claims/notes to insurance companies.
  • Work workers' comp denials.
  • Accounts Receivable follow-up.
  • Knowledge of PA Workers' Comp Law.
  • Understanding of WCAIS and Bureau documents.
  • Answer emails.
  • Make and answer phone calls.
  • Multi-task.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans, workers' compensation, and personal injury.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Confidence in working independently.
  • Typing – 50+ WPM.
  • Working knowledge of insurance guidelines and billing and collection procedures.
  • Ability to effectively interact with doctors, attorneys, patients, and co-workers.
