Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of Show Low School facilities. The successful candidate will work Monday through Friday, 1 PM - 9:30 PM, and be a team player with a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dust, mop, sweep, and wet mop all hard surface floors to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Vacuum rugs and carpets to maintain a tidy appearance.
  • Scrub and clean bathrooms and fixtures, and ensure they are well-stocked with supplies.
  • Clean walls, doors, windows, and woodwork to maintain the overall appearance of the facilities.
  • Clean entryways, hallways, and faculty areas to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Strip, wax, and buff floors to maintain their appearance and extend their lifespan.
  • Clean special-use areas such as locker rooms, gymnasiums, and cafeterias to ensure they are safe and clean.
  • Clean chalkboards and erasers to maintain a tidy appearance.
  • Clean washbowls, toilets, sinks, drinking fountains, and other fixtures to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Refill towels, soap, and other supplies to maintain a clean and well-stocked environment.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Secure areas as required and turn off all lights except for security lights.
Organizational Relationships

The successful candidate will report directly to the Administrator and Lead Custodian.

Qualifications and Requirements

A minimum of three months' experience as a custodian is desired. The successful candidate must be able to read, understand, and carry out directions related to custodial duties. They must also be able to perform moderately heavy physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs. The candidate must be able to work cooperatively with the public and other personnel, and work with minimal supervision. They must also be trustworthy, as they will work with expensive equipment and in rooms where sensitive information is stored.
