Position Overview
The role of the Medical Assistant is crucial in delivering quality healthcare services. We are offering a $5000 Sign-on Bonus for qualified CERTIFIED/REGISTERED Medical Assistants.
Bonus Structure:
The sign-on bonus will be distributed in three phases:
- First Phase: After the initial 120 days of employment.
- Second Phase: After completing the first year of service.
- Third Phase: After 18 months of continuous employment.
New hires must maintain full-time employment to qualify for the entire bonus.
Minimum Qualifications
Educational Background:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience:
- No prior experience required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (AMT).
- Current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Educational Background:
- Graduate from an accredited medical assisting program.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
Core Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and document vital signs, patient medical history, and chief complaints.
- Prepare examination and treatment areas with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Maintain and sterilize equipment for treatments.
- Assist in scheduling tests and treatments.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Perform phlebotomy, finger sticks, and collect lab specimens.
- Support healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
- Manage and follow up on patient communications, referrals, and pharmacy requests.
- Process prescriptions electronically as directed by the provider.
- Conduct waived lab tests, EKGs, and administer injections.
- Apply dressings and remove sutures as instructed by the provider.
- Utilize CPR skills when necessary.
- Dispose of biohazard waste in compliance with state regulations.
- Maintain OSHA standards and practices.
- Document all actions accurately and ethically.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain physical fitness to meet the demands of an active role.
- Exhibit manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination, and acceptable vision.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Be capable of performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting over 30 lbs.
