The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team exemplifies Apple's dedication to merging creativity with technology.

This team is responsible for the infrastructure that supports the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books, delivering high-quality content in over 35 languages across more than 150 countries.These engineers create secure, comprehensive solutions.

They design the custom software that processes creative content, the tools utilized by providers to distribute media, and the server-side systems and APIs for various Apple services.

As services increasingly become a vital aspect of Apple's business, these teams maintain a small, agile, and cross-functional structure, allowing for greater exposure to diverse opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and oversee the orchestration of object storage services, focusing on measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.

  • Develop, operate, and maintain SRE tools and applications.
  • Engage in enhancing the entire lifecycle of services from inception through deployment, operations, and refinement.
  • Analyze logs and telemetry data by crafting monitoring and automation scripts.
  • Participate in on-call duties and release management rotations.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting during service-impacting events.
  • Engage in code reviews, internal infrastructure enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Manage our applications at scale across multiple geographically dispersed public and private cloud environments to support critical internal initiatives.
  • Collaborate with dependent teams and stakeholders through effective communication.
Minimum Qualifications:

BS degree in computer science or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic understanding of the Linux Operating System, standard networking protocols, and components.
Experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes in public/private cloud environments.
Hands-on experience managing a large number of diverse systems with configuration management, infrastructure provisioning tools, or software delivery platforms (such as Terraform and Spinnaker).
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is one component of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
