Job Overview

The Teacher at TOTally Kids is a vital member of our educational team, responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of our young students. As a key figure in our classroom, you will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement engaging lesson plans, ensuring a seamless and effective learning experience for all children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational curriculum, incorporating developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards to create a comprehensive and engaging learning environment.
  • Lead by example, modeling and coaching teaching team members to ensure a cohesive and collaborative approach to education.
  • Plan and execute individual and group activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth, actively engaging children and encouraging their participation.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences, ensuring a strong partnership between home and school.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations, upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Establish and maintain a healthy classroom environment, prioritizing hygiene, cleanliness, and the safety and security of all children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers, ensuring they adhere to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Accurately maintain records, forms, and files, ensuring seamless communication and record-keeping.
  • Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan, fostering continuous quality improvement and staying abreast of best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • Full-time availability and a strong commitment to the role.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or higher, with a preference for prior experience in early childhood education.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • High energy and a strong ability to work well in a team environment, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Patience and a deep understanding of child development, with a focus on creating a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid training/certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels, and may also require kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on creating a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
