NICU III Registered Nurse Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled NICU III Registered Nurse to join our team at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center - Laguna Hills. As a NICU III RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of patient progress and care.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of NICU IV experience required.
  • Must have charge experience and be willing to work as both bedside and charge as needed.
  • Must have experience attending high-risk deliveries.
  • AHA Provider, Instructor, and RQI acceptable for ACLS, BLS, PALS.
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure Certification Required.
  • Tech Cert Verification - Requirements.
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing.
  • State License 1 Verification.
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) Required.
  • NIH Stroke Certification for Specific Units.
  • Medication Calculation Test and EKG test Requirements.
  • Competency Exams and proper Documentation Required.
  • Relias EKG Basic or Advanced Dys EKG Exam.
  • Photo for Badge.
