Job Title: Paralegal Assistant

This role is an exciting opportunity to utilize your paralegal skills to support the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in their mission to provide child welfare services.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal support to staff attorneys, including conducting research and preparing legal documents.
  • Attend court hearings and review files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform special projects and prepare statistical reports as assigned.
  • Process subpoenas and arrange for production of records or attendance of workers.
  • Obtain legal materials upon request of staff attorneys.
  • File court documents and serve legal papers under the direction of staff attorneys.
Requirements:
  • Excellent legal and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
