Job Summary:

As a Speech Therapy Supervisor, Pediatrics, you will oversee the daily operations of the Speech Therapy Department at the Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center (KFRC). Your responsibilities will include ensuring the competency of staff, quality of care, and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. You will supervise staff and the quality of services/patient care, developing and implementing goals, policies, and procedures to enhance services and patient care. Additionally, you will collaborate with physicians and staff in resolving service and patient care issues, evaluating and administering diagnostic tests, and providing individualized treatment to adults and children for various communications disorders, voice, and swallowing impairments, and neurological defects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operations of the department, directing staff, ensuring their competency, and developing in-service programs.
  • Develop and implement goals, policies, and procedures to enhance services and patient care, maintaining and monitoring the budget, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and increase services.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff in resolving service and patient care issues, evaluating and administering diagnostic tests, and providing individualized treatment to adults and children.
  • Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis, and at any time, Kaiser Permanente reserves the right to reevaluate and change job descriptions or to change such positions from salaried to hourly pay status.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in a hospital/rehabilitation setting.
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience required.
Education
Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
License, Certification, Registration
Speech-Language Pathologist License (California) required at hire
Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate
National Provider Identifier required at hire

Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of The Joint Commission and other legal requirements. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Completion of a Speech Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) Internship required.
