Surgical Technologist Job Summary
This Surgical Technologist role is part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, a leading healthcare provider. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting surgeons and operating room staff during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and preparation: Sets up sterile tables, ensuring that necessary supplies, medications, and equipment are readily available.
- Assisting in Ambulatory settings: May be assigned to assist with outpatient clinic flow, work on unit committees, answer patient phone calls, gather information, and relay it to the provider.
- Post-operative care: Performs post-op phone calls and relays information to the provider.
- Scribing: May be required to scribe for the provider in outpatient clinics.
Certifications and Requirements:
Candidates must possess critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Acceptable certifications for this role include TS-C (through the National Center for Competency Training) or CST (through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting).
Work Experience:
- Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions and uses personal protective equipment as required.
