Clinical Psychologist

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth psychosocial assessments to identify problems and develop individual treatment plans. You will work with the treatment team to address the social aspects of patients' situations and provide individual professional input.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify patient needs and develop treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to address patient social needs.
- Provide individual professional input to the treatment team.
- Conduct therapeutic counseling sessions in accordance with specific guidelines.
- Develop and conduct educational presentations for patients on various mental health topics.
- Educate patients and their families on available treatment options.
- Develop and implement outpatient aftercare treatment plans.
- Transport patients to assess resources or attend to essential business.
- Provide subject matter expertise on VA and community resources.
- Substitute for other clinicians as needed.
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will also be responsible for administrative tasks, including:
- Entering patient contacts into the electronic record.
- Maintaining positive working relationships with employees, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Attending staff meetings and performing other duties as required.
- Collaborating in the performance improvement process.
- Providing coverage responsibilities in the absence of other clinicians.
- Completing continuing education hours for licensure.
- Demonstrating professional behavior in accordance with VA regulations and policy.
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will have opportunities to provide clinical supervision, leadership guidance, and consultation to staff and trainees. You will also have the opportunity to participate in activities that enhance services and provide feedback to clients.
- Provide clinical supervision to various disciplines and levels of training.
- Offer consultation to colleagues and students on psychosocial treatment.
- Teach and mentor staff and students in the special area of practice.
- Participate in Medical Center or Healthcare System committees or task forces.
- Represent the Medical Center or Healthcare System at professional events and committees.
Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. Compressed or flexible schedules available with discussion. Telework and virtual work arrangements available as needed.
RequirementsMust have a doctoral degree in psychology and be licensed to practice in the state of employment. Must have experience working with veterans and their families. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
