Surveying / Subsurface Utility Engineering
Position Overview:
JMT USA is seeking a qualified Licensed Land Surveyor to take on the role of Survey/SUE Project Lead. This position involves the planning, organization, and oversight of surveying teams engaged in determining precise locations and measurements of various land features for multiple applications including construction, mapping, and utility management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor surveying personnel, ensuring adherence to safety practices.
- Evaluate project progress and recommend adjustments to enhance outcomes.
- Represent the organization in client meetings and discussions.
- Coordinate with engineering and utility teams to align project objectives.
- Research historical survey data and relevant records to inform current projects.
- Make independent decisions on surveying methodologies and represent the firm in technical discussions.
- Develop and manage unique surveying projects that impact major organizational initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive survey proposals and oversee the creation of all related documentation.
- Train and guide junior staff in surveying techniques and project execution.
Essential Skills:
- Strong mathematical aptitude, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-world scenarios.
Work Environment:
This role primarily operates in an office setting, with occasional fieldwork required. The office environment is generally quiet and comfortable, while fieldwork may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
