We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Specialist to join our team at Bay Area Community Resources. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and making a positive impact on the lives of students.

Job Summary

The Student Support Specialist will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide individualized support and guidance to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. This role requires a strong understanding of child development, education, and social-emotional learning principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to students to help them overcome academic and personal challenges.
  • Develop and implement small group interventions to promote social-emotional learning and behavior management.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to identify student needs and develop strategies to support student success.
  • Conduct restorative justice mediations to resolve conflicts and promote positive relationships among students.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit regular progress reports to ensure accountability and transparency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting, preferably in a mentorship or support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and mutual respect.
