We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Multi-Site Float Pool team at Advocate Aurora Health, Inc. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist RNs with daily patient care activities, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation.
- Measure and document patient data, such as blood pressures, temperatures, and intake/output.
- Perform purposeful rounding and promptly communicate patient observations and needs to RNs.
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring patient rooms are set up and managed properly.
- Collect and process patient specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and maintain competency in these areas.
- Complete various errands, maintain stock, and clean equipment and work areas.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and assistive devices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days.
- Nurse Aide certification in good standing with the State Registry.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with assistance. The employee will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, and must wear protective clothing as necessary.
