Lead Scribe

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Scribe to join our team at WVU Medicine. The successful candidate will provide leadership, support, and education to our scribe staff, ensuring high-quality documentation of physician dictations and activities.

• Lead and manage a team of scribes to ensure efficient and accurate documentation
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for scribe operations
• Provide training and education to scribes on medical terminology, documentation best practices, and hospital policies
• Coordinate and facilitate training sessions for scribes
• Supervise and evaluate scribe performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and leadership to ensure seamless integration of scribe services
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience as a scribe required
• Two years of college-level coursework in a relevant field preferred
• Typing speed of 50 wpm preferred

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced emergency medicine environment, requiring strong organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
