SUMMARY OF JOB:
As a Healthcare Access Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming patients as they arrive for services.
  • Processing admissions for newborns upon their arrival.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate entry of all patient information.
  • Verifying insurance details and securing necessary authorizations for services.
  • Preparing admission packets for all patients, obtaining required signatures, and making copies as necessary.
  • Maintaining an online schedule for patients scheduled for induction.
  • Generating patient charge reports from the Athena system for nursing and physician staff upon patient arrival.
  • Printing admission packets and securing patient signatures, along with necessary copies.
  • Keeping departmental logs of activities within the department.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A High School Diploma or GED, with official proof of completion.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
  • The ability to problem-solve and adapt in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
  • A passion for creating individualized and meaningful experiences for patients.
  • Compassion and sensitivity towards the emotional, spiritual, physical, and healthcare needs of patients.
  • A desire to build and nurture relationships that enhance each individual's healthcare experience.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with a team of healthcare providers.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Preferred knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
