This facility is equipped with 142 beds and offers a wide array of inpatient and outpatient services, including but not limited to medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pediatrics, and women's health services. Additionally, it features a laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and both physical and respiratory therapy services. The Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center is also part of the hospital, providing advanced chemotherapy and radiation therapy among other oncology services.
Position Overview
The Physical Therapist I plays a crucial role in delivering direct patient care through assessment and treatment tailored to the specific needs of the patient population, considering age and medical condition. This position emphasizes continuous professional development and leadership, ensuring competency in practice. The therapist will engage in team dynamics and interdisciplinary collaboration as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care by assessing, establishing goals, creating treatment plans, executing treatments, and modifying plans as necessary. Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and caregivers as appropriate.
- Ensure the safety of patients during treatment and maintain awareness of overall safety conditions in treatment areas. Report any unsafe conditions to management.
- Complete documentation requirements accurately and promptly, ensuring effective communication with other healthcare professionals and patients.
- Meet clinical productivity standards and pursue ongoing education to enhance skills and knowledge, sharing insights with colleagues.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, attending mandatory meetings and assisting in staff orientation.
Participation in Program Development
Actively engage in setting program goals and objectives, budget management, staff utilization, quality improvement, and program development initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an APTA accredited Physical Therapy program with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree.
- Less than three years of professional licensure.
- Current valid license or eligibility for licensure in Physical Therapy by the appropriate regulatory board.
