About the PositionBunker Hill Community College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to adult learners. The successful candidate will have a strong background in TESOL, English, Education, or Applied Linguistics, and experience working with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities- Teach ESL courses according to a fixed hybrid schedule, using a variety of instructional methods and materials to engage adult learners.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Massachusetts English Language Proficiency Standards (MA ELPS) and promote student learning.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback, and work with students to set and achieve personal goals.
- Use technology to enhance teaching and learning, and stay up-to-date with educational best practices and research findings.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and develop new materials.
- Master's degree in TESOL, English, Education, or Applied Linguistics, or a related field with specific coursework or training in TESOL/TESL/TEFL methodology and theory.
- Native or near-native English proficiency levels.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity.
- Experience working with adult learners and diverse populations.
