About the Position

Bunker Hill Community College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to adult learners. The successful candidate will have a strong background in TESOL, English, Education, or Applied Linguistics, and experience working with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ESL courses according to a fixed hybrid schedule, using a variety of instructional methods and materials to engage adult learners.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Massachusetts English Language Proficiency Standards (MA ELPS) and promote student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide feedback, and work with students to set and achieve personal goals.
  • Use technology to enhance teaching and learning, and stay up-to-date with educational best practices and research findings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and develop new materials.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in TESOL, English, Education, or Applied Linguistics, or a related field with specific coursework or training in TESOL/TESL/TEFL methodology and theory.
  • Native or near-native English proficiency levels.
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity.
  • Experience working with adult learners and diverse populations.
