Role: Travel Nurse RN specializing in Emergency Care
Location: Mercy Medical Center Redding, California
Certification Requirements- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC preferred
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking a proficient ER RN for a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing
- An active California RN license
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS; PALS and TNCC are preferred
The selected candidate will be expected to:
- Foster a collaborative environment within the emergency department
- Demonstrate leadership skills to enhance team performance
- Manage high-volume and high-acuity patient cases effectively
Shifts: 12-hour shifts with varied start times
- Day shifts: 6 AM - 6 PM
- Mid shifts: Varied starts between 9 AM - 3 PM
- Night shifts: Varied starts between 4 PM - 7 PM
Schedules are planned at least 2 weeks in advance with some self-scheduling options available.
Additional Requirements- Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
- Holiday shifts: Integrated into the permanent staff rotation
- On-call duties: One day per month, potentially two days for specific teams
Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 4 patients
- No floating to other units
- Orientation period: 2-3 shifts specific to the floor
- Common patient cases include trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psychiatric emergencies
Travel nurses may be required to take trauma patients based on their experience level. Preference will be given to candidates with Level II trauma experience or higher.
Mandatory Certifications- ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine Required
- NIHSS, PALS certifications
- Telemetry, L/D, Emergency, and Critical Care RNs will undergo a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on the first day of assignment
