We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Assembly Specialist to join our team at Teledyne FLIR LLC. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a critical role in the production of high-quality electro-mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble subassemblies and top assemblies of complex electro-mechanical systems, including commercial parts for customers such as Boeing, Airbus, and Commercial Aircraft operators worldwide.
- Perform routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes in a manual manufacturing assembly line environment.
- Work in a team environment, participating in continuous improvement activities and utilizing basic hand tools, equipment, and power tools.
- Perform visual inspection, identify any defective items, and handle according to established procedures and processes.
- Solder to IPC-J-STD-001 electro-mechanical assembly on through-hole and surface mount components.
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions.
- Perform cross-training when required and proactively identify and assist in process improvements.
- Determine when and if Engineering Change Order (ECO) is required and work with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering departments to implement assembly procedures.
- Adhere to operational procedures, ensure tooling is in calibration before use, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Other duties as assigned, including reworks units rejected by inspection or test personnel and following safety procedures in the use and handling of flammable and hazardous chemicals.
- High school diploma and some degree of vocational or technical training.
- 0-2 years of directly related experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Computer skills to enter time and data into a computer system.
- Knowledge of database software, inventory software, manufacturing software, spreadsheet software, and/or word processing software.
- Basic knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen.
