We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreman-Aggregate to join our team at Team Elmer's. As a key member of our recycling plant operations team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of employees assigned to the recycling plant operation.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Coordinate - Directly supervise and coordinate activities of employees assigned to the recycling plant operation, ensuring efficient and effective execution of tasks.
- Operational Management - Participate in the moving of the plant and ensure a smooth transition of the plant from location to location.
- Problem Solving - Recognize and communicate to the Aggregate Crushing Manager any priority projects or problems, such as employee or job costing issues.
- Safety and Compliance - Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, bringing problems to the attention of the Manager, Safety Director, and/or Human Resources.
- Leadership and Teamwork - Coordinate, direct, and lead workers, assigning work to employees using material and worker requirements data.
- Quality Control - Supervise crews to obtain top quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork, and pride.
- Administrative Tasks - Review and verify employee time sheets and submit to Payroll on specified days, ensuring that hours are assigned properly.
- Personnel Management - Suggest and initiate personnel actions, such as communication of performance concerns to management, addressing of performance concerns, ensuring MSHA and company safety policies are followed, and training requirements are met and/or completed.
- Employee Development - Analyze and resolve worker problems and recommend motivational plans.
- Maintenance and Repair - Regularly communicate with the Aggregate Crushing Manager about repair and maintenance needs on all major pieces of equipment on assigned jobs.
- Operational Procedures - Follow daily foreman procedures & protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
- Equipment Operation - Operate a CAT 980 or 988 loader.
- Safety Protocols - Know and follow all company safety policies as well as OSHA, MIOSHA, and MSHA regulations.
- Personal Protective Equipment - Practice safety at all times, including driving of company vehicles or use of equipment, and use PPE while on the jobsite.
- Valid License - Valid license, CDL preferred or the ability to obtain within one year.
- Education - High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Clean Driving Record - Clean driving record for past 3 years.
- Physical and Mental Demands - Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- MSHA Training - Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA) Training, preferred but not required.
- Experience - Experience operating a front-end loader in a sand and gravel environment, preferred.
- Administrative and Management Skills - Basic knowledge of administration and management, including planning, allocating resources, managing production, and coordinating people and equipment.
- Industry Knowledge - Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction industry or specific company division.
- Soft Skills - Strong coordination, time management, active listening, oral and written expression and comprehension, critical thinking, and reasoning skills.
- Mathematical Abilities - Strong mathematical abilities and the ability to remember words, numbers, and other information.
- Visual Acuity - Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet).
- Advanced Mechanical Skills - Advanced mechanical skills a plus.
- Welding Skills - Welding skills and abilities.
- Physical Demands - Ability to work long hours and perform repetitive movements.
- Travel - Must be willing to travel.
- Work Schedule - Must be willing to work long hours (12-hour days), 5-6 days per week, and nights and weekends when necessary.
- Environmental Conditions - Ability to work in all environmental conditions, but especially in a dry and hot environment for 10 or more hours a day.
- Work Ethic - Good work ethic, punctuality, and alertness.
- Mechanical Knowledge - Mechanical knowledge of equipment, machines, and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
