Job Summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Counselor to join our team in Boomer, NC. As a key member of our Short-Term Juvenile Justice Residential program, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, support, and therapeutic interventions to at-risk youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized counseling and group therapy sessions to promote positive behavioral change and personal growth.
  • Develop and implement strength-based treatment plans that address the unique needs and challenges of each youth.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support and services for youth and their families.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices.

Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older per DJJ guidelines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years' relevant experience working with youth.
  • Bachelor's degree in social/behavioral services or outdoor recreation specialties preferred.
  • Direct care experience in a therapeutic/rehabilitative setting a plus.
