The primary responsibility of this role is to inspect, repair, adjust, install, and maintain all refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Safety is paramount, and employees must utilize protective gear and follow established safety protocols to perform their duties safely.

The essential functions of this position require moderate physical activity, including the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, work at heights, and navigate confined spaces. Candidates must be capable of lifting and carrying over 50 lbs independently and over 100 lbs with assistance.

Qualifications:

Minimum Criteria:

Applicants should have at least six months of experience in refrigeration and air conditioning repair. Relevant education may substitute for experience as determined by the hiring agency.

Special Requirements:

Candidates must possess A/C Certification for refrigerant evacuation in high-pressure HVAC systems and knowledge of proper storage for such materials. Familiarity with the refrigeration cycle, refrigerants, and smaller tonnage refrigeration and air conditioning equipment is essential. Knowledge of standard practices, tools, and methods for installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of these systems is required. Additionally, candidates should understand pneumatic controls and the principles of electricity and circuitry as they apply to smaller units.

Preferred Criteria:

Preference will be given to candidates with 30 months of experience in refrigeration and air conditioning, including six months at a skilled (journeyman) level. Training in refrigeration and air conditioning repair at the high school level or an accredited institution may substitute for non-skilled experience.

All candidates must pass a law enforcement security clearance as part of the hiring process.
