We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Procedural Suites at Kaiser Permanente. As a Staff RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and coordinate multidisciplinary care with ACC, CDU, and External Specialty care groups as needed.
- Interpret data received prior to treatment and utilize nursing judgment to make informed decisions.
- Direct, initiate, and implement patient care plans based on established protocols for the respective specialties of Procedural Suites.
- Perform pre-op assessments, initiate intravenous catheter care, central line care, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, and vital sign assessment.
- Manage nursing care of sedated patients, work with Charge Nurse/Surgeon to address any case or patient concerns, and assist the operative team to create and maintain a safe environment.
- Provide knowledge-based technical assistance to physicians, use instruments and medical devices within the procedure room, and conduct continuous vital sign assessments.
- Provide patient and family education, initiate emergency care of procedural suite patients as needed, and conduct patient follow-up.
- Assess side effects of treatment and identify additional health problems that may require medical attention.
- Review laboratory data for abnormal or unusual results and confer with physicians as needed based on the medical status of the patient.
- Document patient information in Health Connect (EMR) and maintain records pertaining to patient care.
- Provide emotional counseling and ongoing support to patients and their families in matters relating to pre, intra, and post-operative care of Specialty procedures, surgical intervention, prognosis, and follow-up care as needed.
- Work closely with medical, nursing, and ancillary staff to provide quality and safe care and act as a liaison with nursing and medical staff when outpatients are admitted to the hospital.
- Minimum three (3) years of RN clinical nursing experience.
- Minimum one (1) year Critical care or/and Operating room experience.
- Associates Degree or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.
- License, Certification, Registration.
- Membership in critical care nursing organizations and the achievement of nursing certification preferred.
- Membership in AORN and achievement of nursing certification preferred.
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
This position is located at Kaiser Permanente's Glenlake Medical Offices in Atlanta, Georgia. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong communication and collaboration skills.
