Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to increase production efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Create and maintain preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Review and improve existing manufacturing lines and equipment to increase productivity and quality.
- Support new production tooling runs and changeovers to minimize downtime and optimize production.
- Train and develop employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
- Assist in reviewing equipment needs and prioritizing capital planning to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Implement and maintain a continuous improvement program to drive best practices and standardized processes.
- Lead and support plant-level continuous improvement initiatives to drive process improvements and cost savings.
- 7-10 years of experience in developing and optimizing equipment and processes in plastics manufacturing, specifically extrusion, vacuum forming, or injection molding.
- Four-year degree in Chemical, Plastics, Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience with different types of extruders and an understanding of the extrusion process is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office and plastic manufacturing software is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. The position may require standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. The candidate may occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, and extreme noise when working at plant locations. Ability to travel as needed to support plant requirements.
