Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatric Practitioner to join our team at E-talentnetwork. This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week, with an estimated annual salary of $120,000 - $180,000 depending on experience.

About the Role
  • This is a locum tenens coverage opportunity, requiring immediate availability (pending credentialing).
  • The initial appointment is for a 3-month assignment, with the option to extend for another 3-6 months if the position remains unfilled.
  • The practitioner will be responsible for patient care, including examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical illnesses for adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatient populations.
  • They will also serve as a medical consultant to the attending psychiatrist/practitioner and complete admission medical assessments, ordering diagnostic/therapeutic tests and procedures as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for patient care that includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of medical illnesses for adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatient population.
  • Serves as medical consultant to the attending psychiatrist/practitioner.
  • Completes admission medical assessments (including history and physical examinations, mental status examination) and entering admission orders.
  • Orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and procedures.
  • Monitors patients' progress, including laboratory values and special procedures with appropriate follow-up or referrals as needed.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a Physician/Practitioner.
  • Strong experience working with patients having Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
  • Psiatric Crisis Management and Forensic experience, a plus.
  • Experience working with adult admissions or geriatric admissions and acute and chronic health management of adult and geriatric populations.
