Job Summary

As a Surgical Technologist Lead at Christus Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room. Your expertise and leadership skills will be essential in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and providing comfort and support to patients undergoing surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of a professional nurse, perform all processes related to the delivery of direct patient care and assistance care in the OR prior, during, and after any surgical procedure.
  • Provide leadership, education, direction, support, and facilitation for improving operational efficiencies within the Operating Room.
  • Collaborate with RN Service Line Coordinator on a daily basis to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Mentor and coach orientees to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Proficiently scrub in three specialty areas, including Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, and Robotics.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of the Surgical Technology program required.
  • Three years of experience as a surgical technologist in a hospital or surgery center setting required.
  • Five years of experience preferred.
  • Lead Tech experience or proven track record as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Certification of Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required.
