Summary:

The Lead Test & Validation Technician plays a crucial role in providing engineering support to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks while adhering to established procedures and protocols for testing. Key responsibilities include preparing and executing cell testing, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure precise results while working collaboratively with fellow technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret customer specifications and train technicians to conduct necessary testing.
  • Design, set up, and execute a variety of tests in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Oversee daily maintenance and calibration of equipment and tools to guarantee operational readiness and efficiency.
  • Manage the calibration of equipment and perform preventive maintenance on testing apparatus.
  • Lead the development of testing procedures in collaboration with technicians.
  • Ensure equipment functionality for testing the performance of prototypes, new, and existing cells.
  • Compile and summarize test results utilizing Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Work with test engineers to analyze results and document any anomalies or inconsistencies.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical challenges encountered during testing and assembly processes.
  • Provide accurate and meaningful data to engineering teams.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in line with 5S3R Standards, which include:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Vocational Certificate or Associate's Degree is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience:

  • 1-3+ years of experience as a test technician, or an Associate's Degree or higher in the battery field.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and data collection methodologies.
