Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Pharmacists
    • Support pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications to patients.
    • Assist with calculating and compounding aliquot doses.
  • Inventory Management
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies.
    • Restock shelves and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Communication
    • Interact with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Receive and initiate verbal medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Training and Development
    • Participate in training and in-service programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
    • Provide training and support to new employees and students.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Completion of a South Carolina Board of Pharmacy approved technician course or current enrollment in a professional academic pharmacy program at an accredited university.
  • Experience
    • Satisfactory progress maintained in the professional academic pharmacy program.
  • Licensure
    • Current registration with the SC Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy intern.
